Hey there! Hope you’ve been following along with the ladies of the Digit-al Dozen nail art group this week. This month’s theme is December and the girls have been killing it! I am currently in the midst of moving limbo, we’re kind of in between houses right now living out of boxes while getting the new place renovated… future reference don’t do major stuff like this in the dead of winter. Ugh! So, I’m not fully joining in this month. I did do a couple of holiday nail art product reviews though.
This first mani features UberChic Beauty’s new Christmas-02 stamping plate. This plate has some seriously adorable holiday images and it also has a couple of layered stamping designs on it. I was really excited to play with these holly leaves and berries. If you haven’t seen how layering stamps work before come check out my youtube video.
The concept is simple, there’s a “bottom” image that you do in one color (in this case the leaves). Then a “top” stamp that matches up over it (the red berries).
I used 3 Pretty Serious polishes for this look. The base is Fairy Lights and the berries are Velvet Bow from this year’s Ghosts of Christmas Past collection. And I ended up using Hack The Halls from their 2015 Holiday Collection for the leaves.
It wasn’t as easy as I thought to line up the layers, I can see this is something I will need more practice at. But for a first try it came out pretty good though I think. What say you??
These Pretty Serious nail polish shades are available now at pretty-serious.com. And if you missed it check out my swatches of this year’s Ghosts of Christmas collection here.
You can also find Pretty Serious and a ton of other awesome polish brands at Live Love Polish.
