Hey there! We’re celebrating our Nail Heroes this week and I wanted to pay tribute to the woman who taught me all about cuticle clean up, Sammy at The Nailasaurus! You’ve probably seen this pin floating around on Pinterest. Sammy’s gradient post opened my eyes to a crucial mani step that until then I had sadly been skipping. She showed me the necessity that is a clean up brush. Because she forever changed my nail game I wanted to re-create one of my favorite manis from her using the very polish that she created. 🙂
This is pretty much an exact replica of the original design I just punched it up a bit with some sparkly polishes instead. The gold base color is Zoya Ziv, topped with NOPI Kissed at Midnight for the accent nails. I used Skinny Straight and Right Angle nail vinyls (don’t remember for sure which shop they were from, I believe @teismom on IG) but this look could definitely be achieved with striping tape and even more patience. This gorgeous blue is piCture pOlish Fools Gold by The Nailasaurus. Fools Gold has a jelly base so rather than try to do 3 coats to cover the gold I first put down a coat of light blue creme Barielle Heaven Sent.
As I mentioned this is a look that truly takes patience. Getting those vinyls on straight was pure hell! If you want to laugh at my struggle watch the video on my YouTube channel (MissShelly129). Just click the image below to check it out and don’t forget to subscribe.
I really love the modern look and feel of these. And the blue and gold color combo rocks my socks!! Am I right!?
Don’t forget to visit the rest of the DD girls to see what they did for Day 2 of Nail Heroes week in the Inlinkz below. I’m already playing catch up with this month’s challenge.. what’s new right. :p But hey I haven’t been totally slacking, at least I have videos!
