Hello beauties! Today starts another week of fab nail art with The Digit-al Dozen. This month’s theme is all about our “Nail Heroes”. Which could be anything from the bloggers who inspire us to the nail products we couldn’t live without. I’m having a hell of a time narrowing down what I wanna do this week. But the one person we all knew we wanted to show our love for is our fearless leader Debbie, blogger extraordinaire at the-crumpet.com. Debbie is not only the founder of our little Digit-al Dozen group but she is also the creator of many of our favorite Facebook polish groups and the inventor of so many awesome nail art challenges. Debbie has been inspiring the nail community for years!
Now if you’re familiar with Miss Crumpet you should know that she is the Queen of Dotticures, just check out the tag on her blog. Debbie loves her dots! …me, not so much. Lol. For some reason dotting is just hard for me, I can never seem to get them perfect enough. But today, to pay homage to our dotty queen I decided to give them another try.
Now this is not an exact copy of one of Deb’s manis but she does a lot of big dot dotticures so that’s what I did. I know she’s a fan of the colors orange and purple and I wanted to combine them somehow.. So I turned to my trusty friend Pinterest to find a nice color scheme with orange and purple. Happily I found this gorgeous sunset image that gave me just the inspiration I needed. And that same day the mailman just happened to drop off all of the colors I could want for it in the new OPI New Orleans Collection. ?
The OPI New Orleans Collection polishes I used are as follows: Let Me Bayou You a Drink (base color), Crawfishin for a Compliment (light orange), Got Myself Into a Jam-balaya (coral), Suzi Nails New Orleans (pink), Spare Me a French Quarter (fuschia), and I Manicure for Beads (purple).
Click the image below to watch me make this mani step-by-step. Looking back I really should’ve used a latex barrier. It got messier than I expected. Haha! And please don’t forget to subscribe to my channel while you’re there. (being a subscriber will also earn you an extra entry in my Instagram Galentine’s Giveaway!) 😉
Make sure to visit the rest of the DD ladies to see the beautiful manis they did for Day 1 of Nail Heroes Week in the InLinkz below.
