Hey there polish lovers! Are you ready for Fall colors? Yes!? Me too! 🙂 Tonight I have a fairly new (but new to me) indie brand to show you. Potion Polish. Their 3rd collection, Fall For Me, is a rainbow of 9 gorgeous fall colors and finishes. Let me say right now, I am thoroughly impressed! Like, totally swooning. The formula on these is top notch and they wear like iron on me. And the colors, oh my gosh! Gorgeous doesn’t cover it. Just look at these..
Summer’s Last Rose is my absolute favorite. She’s a deep rosey pink, linear super holo jelly with fuchsia holo micro-flake glitter throughout. The formula is a dream to work with, 2 coat perfection. For real, this could be the next “It” polish. It’s insane in the sunlight! If you’ve been obsessing over all the berry holos this year this one needs to be at the top of your wishlist. I posted a sunshine action swatch on YouTube, check it out because indoor photos really don’t adequately capture the magic of the holo/glitter combo.
October Midnight is another super stunner. A royal blue jelly polish filled with holographic silver flake particles. I used 3 thin coats for this swatch. This is the kind of jelly where it can get draggy if you try to put it on too thick so let it dry for a second longer between coats. This is also one of my top picks of the bunch, the way the holo bits shine through the layers of jelly.. it’s just so so pretty!
Marvelous Maple is a glowy golden linear holo yellow jelly with gold holo glitter and gold micro-flake shimmer. I don’t usually like yellows very much but I fell head over heels for this the moment I put it on, it’s sooo sparkly. There’s something about the way the holo and flakies glow through a jelly base… it makes me swoon every time! Shown here is just 2 coats. Courtney, the maker, informed me that this one could be a stainer. I didn’t keep it on very long while swatching to know for sure, but make sure to wear a good base coat just in case.
Twilight Bonfire is a deep royal purple holo sprinkled with gold holo micro-glitter and fine coppery shimmer. This one is so pigmented, it could almost be a one coater. I used 2 thin coats for this swatch. The formula was great, smooth and easy to apply, it went on like butter.
Pumpkin All the Things! is a dark orange holo jelly (more of a loose holo, still linear but not quite scattered) with fine gold shimmer. It’s beautiful, I know all the pumpkin fanatics are gonna need this one. 🙂 I used 3 thin coats for this swatch. My photos lean a bit redder than it really is, it’s a touch lighter in real life. Courtney also warned me that this one may stain so I used an extra layer of base coat.
Sweater Weather is Better Weather is an evergreen holo with coppery red holo micro-glitter. It’s a jelly but is a more opaque jelly. I only needed 2 coats for full coverage. Perfect fall color! It reminds me of camping in the woods with a crackling fire.
Teal the Leaves Fall is a deep teal jelly filled with large iridescent green flakies that shift from green to gold to blue. Nice and easy to apply. I used 3 coats for full coverage. It wasn’t until looking at the pictures I noticed that it comes out a bit thinner at the tips. So just make sure to give your tips an extra wrap while polishing if that bothers you. but like I said it wasn’t even really noticeable at arms length.
Cranberry Fizzy is a rich cranberry red jelly packed with tiny and medium sized red, orange and gold metallic holo hex glitters. She is beautiful! I wore 3 thin coats for this swatch. The formula was really easy to apply, and the glitters spread out evenly on the nail. With all that glitter it does have a bit of a bumpy texture when dry so I doubled up on the top coat to smooth it out.
Rainy Day on the Couch is a gray crelly base filled with light and dark blue micro-glitter and a flash of pink / purple shifty shimmer. 3 easy coats here. This is another to give an extra tip wrap to, some jellies just tend to pull back at the edge a little. This is such a perfectly named polish isn’t it! I love spending rainy days on the couch with a good Netflix movie.
Can you see now why I’m totally gushing over these!? Not just how pretty they are but the quality is phenomenal. I know wear time and such varies with each persons body chemistry but I’ve had my current mani, with Summers Last Rose (that I’ll be posting tomorrow) on for 6 days and I just today started noticing the slightest bit of tip wear.
Another thing that really impressed me.. Not all polish companies bother to warn people of staining, but PP has it right there in the product descriptions on their site. Courtney even sent me an email warning me of possible staining before I even received the package, to me that says a lot about their customer service. I cannot recommend this brand enough!
The Fall for Me Collection will be available Today (August 21st) at 12pm (est) at www.potionpolish.com. They retail for only $8.50 each or you can pick up the whole collection for $70.
You can also follow them on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest for updates and lots of pretty polish pictures.
