Forgive me darlings. I got so wrapped up in editing photos for my last two collection reviews that I completely forgot to post my Day 5 mani for this month’s Digit-al Dozen challenge. Eeek! How could I possibly leave a mani this pretty sitting in my picasa album for so long!
I used the OPI Beach Sandies: a set of 4 Liquid Sand (texture) minis from the Brazil Collection. The colors are absolutely Gorgeous! I cannot understand why OPI would have gone and made these only available as minis.. We Need Full Size Bottles! Ya hear that OPI?! 🙂
OPI Brazil Collection Beach Sandies Nail Art
The formula on all 4 of these is amazing! They are really bright, almost neon and I love how they have that delicate sparkle.. The color names are – I’m Brazil Nuts Over You (red), You’re So Flippy Floppy (yellow), Samba-dy Loves Purple (purple) and What’s A Little Rain Forest (blue). They were a bit more sheer than I expected, although I can’t say for sure as I haven’t done full swatches but each needed 2 coats to cover fully and the yellow could’ve used a third still.
To create this negative space look I used a ridge filling base coat then I simply added random lines of striping tape and painted the spaces in between with the bottle brush.
I love how this came out! I’m totally hooked on “negative space” or “cut-out” nail art designs, there’s just something about having the natural naked nail showing through that makes it so cool to me.
