|Blue Suede Shoes with topcoat|
Hello Nailistas! I have some beautiful polishes from Voodoo Lacquer to show you today. 🙂 If you’ve been with me for a while you may remember that I’ve been swatching for Heather, the creator at Voodoo Lacquer, since their beginning. I am consistently impressed with just about every polish she’s ever sent me and this new collection is no exception. They are Fabulous!
This is Part 2 of the Rockabilly Collection, see my review on Part 1 HERE. And since Halloween is right around the corner I oughta link you to my swatches of last year’s Halloween Collection. Some of which are back in her shop right now, including the epic glow-in-the-dark polish Glowin Ghoulies!
Voodoo Lacquer ~ Rockabilly Collection ~ Part 2
Blue Suede Shoes is a bright, almost neon, powder blue with a semi matte “suede” finish. It has teeny tiny silver micro squares, blue micro hex glitter a beautiful hidden blue shimmer that really pops when you add a shiny topcoat. Formula and application were great and being semi matte the dry time was super fast. I went with 3 thin coats tho 2 covered well.
Rumble in Brighton is a bright cherry red crelly packed with iridescent blue awesomeness! There are also a few iridescent green jumbo hexes scattered throughout. This polish is soo pretty in real life, my photos just don’t do it justice. Again I used 3 thin coats and topped it with my new fave tc “Oh So Wet” ( hate the name but boy is that stuff shiny! haha)
Wow, Snake Eyed Mama, I didn’t expect to like you so much! In my bottle shot above it looks like a brown polish but NO its a stunning glitter topper. She’s a clear base filled with small and medium sized brown and caramel colored hexes along with those beautiful iridescent blue glitters and shimmer.. Oh the shimmer, golden brown but with a crazy pink flash to it that makes this one so unique. This is 2 thin coats over Zoya Flynn. The glitter spread perfectly on the nail with no fishing or placing needed.
Tear It Up is also a glitter topper. It’s made up of black, silver holo, purple holo and pink and purple shards or “shreds” It also has a pink/purple/blue/green multi shift micro glitter. It is so sparkly! I layered 2 thin coats over Zoya Sailor, I thought the darker base really showed the shimmer nicely. I think it would probably look good worn alone or over white or black too. Again the formula was great! I did use an extra layer of topcoat to smooth it out, shards can be a pain sometimes but I found only one or two spots where they stuck up off the nail though.
Voodoo Lacquer is available at etsy.com/shop/VooDooLacquer. They are priced at $8 for these new ones but some from previous collections are listed as low as $6 each. In my opinion that’s a steal for quality handmade lacquers like this nowadays!
