Hello lacquer lovers! Long overdue post today, I'm ashamed to say I've had most of these photos sitting in my memory card for about a month. I just haven't had a chance to sit down and go through a thousand pics to pick the best and get them edited. So glad I was finally able to make the time to get it done because these are some beautiful polishes and they need to be shared.
So without further ado I bring you part one of Shimmer Swatch Spam.

Totally loving my jazzy new photo collage app by the way :)
There are a ton of pics in this post so I'm adding my first ever jump break to cut down on loading time.

To cut down on repetition I can tell you now every one of these applied like a dream. They're jam packed with glitter but the formula is great! They each went on super smooth, all the glitters spread beautifully and laid flat. They look great as a glitter topcoat when worn over another color but if you wanna go full on bling mode all can easily be layered to opacity in 2-3 coats. I like it both ways so I'm showing you both.
First up is "my" Shimmer.. well not actually mine but the closest one she makes. This is Rochelle (in case you didn't know my real name is Richelle) It's an elegant combination of red and gold with a slight hint of copper. This is one coat over A England Perceval with 3 coats on the ring finger.
Sarah is a beautiful tropical blue green. And as you've seen in the macro shots most of these also have a sprinkling of holographic micro glitter. I love that! I think it gives them an added complexity. This is one coat over A England Galahad and 3 coats on the accent.
Tiffany is so dainty and delicate looking with pale pink and blue glitters. This is one coat over butter LONDON Teddy Girl with 2 coats on the ring finger. And please excuse my dry cuticles, between the winter and the acetone my hands are taking a beating.
Linna is packed with bright green and teal glitters with a dash of red blue and yellow mixed in. One coat over Illamasqua Kink here and 3 on the accent. I don't know why my camera seemed to have been on the fritz with some of these, maybe the munchkin got a hold of it and fingered up the lens. I didn't notice until I started cropping but every pic I got that day was a little blurry.
Katherine is described as a bronze sandstone color. Comprised of nothing but fine microglitter. I love this look, it just feels classy. For this one I used 2 thin coats over OPI Black Onyx and I honestly don't remember if the accent nail had 3 or 4 coats, I'm thinking maybe 4. (probably oughta start writing that stuff down as I go)
Carol is filled with gold, blue and black glitters in a million different shapes and sizes. and as you can see in the macro she also has a sprinkling of holo microglitter. Again one coat over Finger Paints Art You Blue with 3 on the ring finger. I love Carol worn alone, I think the black gives is so much more depth, I really liked this combo too.
And last but definitely not least was my surprise favorite so far, Sonia. A simply stunning combination of lavender, gold and light pink, with gold and holo micro shimmer that just makes it come alive! It makes me feel like I have fairy princess nails. This is so perfect for spring. Here is one coat over Zoya Julie and 3 coats on the accent nail.
For all of these I used my usual glitter topcoat duo, Gelous followed by one coat of Seche. Except for Katherine, she only needed one coat of Seche. And I used Emlers glue for the base coat so I can't really speak on removal. I imagine as with any glitter polish you'd need to use foil or the soak off with cotton balls method.
This was my first experience with Shimmer Polish and I'm sold. Cindy's gorgeous glitter combinations mixed with her high quality bases exceeded my every expectation. I cannot wait to show you the rest of these! I have 8 more coming in a future post, 2 of which I already have swatched. I'm hoping to do more artsy stuff with the rest like gradients or tape mani's and whatnot.
Shimmer Polish is available on Etsy and retails for $12 for a full size (15ml) bottle. You can also purchase directly from Cindy by email, all the info can be found on her blog at shimmyshimmer.com.
