Pomegranate Nail Lacquer review
~ Frolicker and Prince Charmer

Today I have 2 polishes from Pomegranate Nail Lacquer's new Royal Fairy Tale collection. The collection includes 14 new shades in cremes, shimmers, metallics and glitters. And there are a lot of bright springtime colors to choose from, as well as some darker shades and even a couple neutral colors...
basically there's something for everyone. :)

Frolicker is described as a "merry marigold-yellow creme". It reminds me of dandelions. I chose this color hoping it would be great to use in some spring/summer nail art, but it's not quite as creamy as I expected. It's actually more like a crelly finish. It self levels perfectly and has that almost squishy look that jellies have. This is pretty sheer, 4 coats here, 3 covered ok but I still had some VNL (visible nail line) showing.

Prince Charmer is a "rich lavender-gray creme". I just can't get enough of these dusty purple shades, I love them all! This was 3 easy coats. My photos really don't do it justice, this color is gorgeous and the application was great. Please pardon the next day swatches, I didn't realize they looked so bad until I started uploading the pics. And I think I must have gotten got some acetone on the label because it was there when I got it. oops!

While I love the colors, I did have one odd issue with both of these.. they would not dry on me. I wanted to show you how incredibly shiny both of them are on their own so I decided not to use topcoat. The first night I painted them well over an hour before bed and I woke up with blanket marks, same thing when I re-did them the next day.. These photos are from my third attempt, this time I had no choice but to use Seche since it dries the polish underneath. I've always heard people say that certain polish brands don't work with certain body chemistry's but I'd never experienced it for myself. Very strange. And I have to think it's just me because none of the other reviews I've seen so far have mentioned it. The weird thing is that I have other Pomegranate polishes and this didn't happen with any of those. So, I don't know.. I think it may be just one of those things, ya know. Still I love this brand and I'm definitely not giving up on them.

Pomegranate Nail Lacquer is available at pomegranatelacquer.com and these new smaller bottles have a lower price tag than the previous collections. These retail for $8.50 and the bottle holds 14.5ml.
(personally I think I prefer the look of old bottles though.)
Check out their site to see all the new shades and also check out all the older colors that are on clearance now.  Plus there's a button you can hit to share on Twitter and get 5% off. How cool is that!
And make sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter for lots of fun polish chat and special offers.
Till next time friends..

  1. Such a happy, sunny yellow. Too bad it takes so many coats for full coverage.

  2. It really is. :) But it's not too bad since the polish is kinda thin, it doesn't end up too thick on the nail like 4 coats usually would. I'll definitely still be using it for glitter undies, just probably not nail arts.
