Hello Nailistas! I am so happy to be bringing you today’s post. I love discovering new indie brands as I’m sure we all do. Today I have the pleasure of showing you Lucky 13 Lacquer’s new Nightmare Collection. It’s based on characters from Tim Burton’s movie The Nightmare Before Christmas (which just happens to be one of my favorite movies of all time!) So of course I had to find some images on google to show you how well each polish matches it’s character. 🙂 Prepare yourself for a pic Heavy post.
First up is Bone Daddy, black matte hexes and smaller black squares with white matte squares and baby white hexes in a clear base.
I Love this one. It’s the perfect black and white glitter polish and I love that it’s matte! This is basically one coat with a few strategic placements here and there over OPI I’m Not Really a Waitress.
Indie polishes always make me nervous because you never know how the application will be, it can be beautiful the bottle but if it applies like crap then it’s useless… That is Not the case with ANY of these. They apply flawlessly! I was actually shocked by how much glitter came out on the brush and how evenly it spread on the nail.
Next we have Pumpkin King, black matte hexes with fiery orange hexes and small orange bars in a clear base.
Again this is one coat with a little strategic placement over Revlon Elegant 380. I think it would’ve probably looked good layered over a green base too. Perfect for Halloween. And I love that the bars are tiny, the bigger bar glitters kinda creep me out.
The only problem I had here was due to user error.. It seemed to thicken up a little after the first couple nails so I added a few drops of thinner and rather than be patient and roll it I just shook it up..duh..so I ended up with some bubbles. I couldn’t see them at all with the naked eye tho, I didn’t even notice they were there until I saw the macro shots.
And this is Ragdoll, silver, turquoise, yellow and lavender hexes with tiny copper microglitter squares in a clear base.
Again one coat..yada yada.. over Zoya Dove. 🙂
Sally is my favorite character from the movie and this polish matches her perfectly. I wish my photos would’ve been able to pick up more of the copper. It glows in the sunlight and really makes this polish so unique.
Last but definitely not least is Zero, red squares and smaller white matte squares with baby white hexes in a clear base.
I thought Bone Daddy was my fave of the bunch till I put this on.. I was blown away! Zero is Gorgeous!!! And again a perfect application over OPI Black Onyx. I’m lovin the red white black combo! This would also be great over a blue base for the 4th of July or pink for Valentines.
I absolutely adore this white glitter she’s using, it reminds me of snow. And it goes so beautifully with the sparkling red squares. Some of them have a bit of a reflective curl but I assure you it’s only reflective, they lay completely flat on the nail. I think it gives it more dimension and makes the light reflect at more angles. This is one polish that needs to be seen in person, the pics just don’t do it justice.
All swatches are shown with a coat of Gelous topped with Seche Vite. (so glad I finally broke down and got a bottle of Gelous, that stuff Rocks)
